Vacuum-packing of bacon is the ideal preparation for storage in the freezer because air has already been withdrawn from the packet.
A lot of vacuum-packed bacon is so marked; but as vacuumpacking can be confused with other types of wrappings, it is advisable to check this if one is in doubt. To prepare these packets for the freezer, inspect each one to ensure the vacuum is not damaged, i.e. the bacon should not be loose in the packet. Wrap the packets in foil, and label.
