Jean Andrews says that, according to most authorities, the peppers in this category are virtually the same cultivar (she does not include the Yellow Wax, but many storekeepers do). They are tapered, conical, and look very like the Fresno, although they are generally marketed yellow (and hence may also be called güeros, meaning blonds, as is done in Mexico), but they can be orange to red, as well. They are moderately hot to hot, with a pleasant sweetness.
