Why love it
We’ve diverted coffee away from the spice cupboard for a higher purpose, but it technically qualifies for the spice category and its roasty flavours work beautifully in desserts alongside booze and chocolate.

Bean: chocolate
Nut: pecan, hazelnut, walnut
Spice & herb: cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, rose, vanilla, coriander, clove, liquorice
Sweet: caramel, date syrup, malt syrup, maple syrup
Extract the flavour
Use either the ground beans or strongly brewed coffee. Choose a dark roast for sweet, rich nuttiness, or a lighter roast for a more fruity, floral acidity.
