Braquet, sometimes called Brachet, historic light red grape variety of provence which is still a valued, if minor, ingredient in the red and pink wines of bellet near Nice. Yields are low and the vine is relatively delicate but the wine is truly distinctive. This variety is not related to the much more aromatic Italian brachetto.
