Burgunder, common suffix in German, meaning literally ‘of burgundy’, for such grape variety members of the pinot family as Spätburgunder, Blauburgunder, Blauer Spätburgunder, or Blauer Burgunder (pinot noir); Weissburgunder or Weisser Burgunder (pinot blanc); and Grauburgunder or Grauer Burgunder (drier styles of pinot gris).
