  • About

currants, small, dark drying grapes made from the vine variety called Zante Currant (in Australia) or Black Corinth (in California). As Korinthiaki, this dark-skinned variety originated in Greece, which is where most of the world’s currants are produced, and takes its name from a corruption of the word Corinth. It has very occasionally been used for winemaking in California and Australia.
