Estaing, miniature aoc on the left bank of the Lot in the Aveyron département in south west france. Reds are based on fer and Gamay grapes and the even rarer whites on Chenin Blanc, although the Cabernets and many a local oddity are allowed in too. The climate here makes marcillac downstream look positively balmy.
