Landwein, rarely seen pgi category of dry Austrian or German wine. In germany, Landwein must have an alcoholic strength of at least half a per cent more than the minimum level for German wine without geographical indication. Austria’s much higher minimum is 14 °kmw (68 °oechsle), reflecting the warmer climate.
