Commune in the hilly far north of minervois in the languedoc which successfully campaigned hard and justifiably for a special subappellation for its 244 ha/603 acres of red wine grapes in which Syrah and/or Mourvèdre must constitute at least 40% of the blend, as opposed the 20% required by the Minervois appellation. Its elevation and rockier soils seem to imbue quality.
