Petit Meslier, ancient and almost extinct white variety cultivated in Champagne. It used to produce fruity wines, but it has fallen out of favour because of its naturally low yields. dna profiling at davis showed in 2000 that Petit Meslier is a progeny of gouais blanc and savagnin. A tiny amount persists in Australia.
