  • About

Tierra de León, promising dop created in 2008, encompassing some 1,465 ha/3,515 acres of vineyards south of the bierzo appellation in north west spain on well-drained, limestone-based alluvial terraces. This is the birthplace of the red prieto picudo grape and shares with Asturias the white Albarín, so that its wines are quite different from those of its neighbours that are dominated by Tempranillo and Mencía.
