Galician name for Portugal’s scented, delicate white trajadura and treated in much the same way. This is the main grape of Ribeiro and may be blended with Galician Torrontés and Lado. It is also grown in the Rías Baixas region, where it is often blended with albariño, loureira, and/or godello. Total Spanish plantings had grown to almost 1,000 ha/2,500 acres by 2011.
