Weststeiermark, the least known of the three subdivisions of steiermark (Styria)—indeed, the least known of any official austrian wine region. Its significant total expanse harbours a mere 450 ha/1,100 acres of vines, dominated by the local speciality, schilcher, made from Blauer Wildbacher grapes and most often as rosé.
