  • About
I have baked all my life. In my twenties, I was the girl who would bake every Sunday afternoon, making treats to take to the office for my coworkers on Monday morning. I’d lovingly tie a box with twine and seal it with my handmade labels to stock our break-room pantry. I was working in an architect’s office, surrounded by creative folks who put in long hours, and they always appreciated my efforts. As for me, I found so much pleasure in making things by hand, and it was a great way to wind down on a Sunday. I also loved shopping in thrift stores–I always felt like I was on a treasure hunt. And I loved the small local hangouts in my neighborhood. But I never realized how my different passions would mingle. I used to daydream in vivid detail about owning my own vintage-style restaurant someday–a place that would make everyone feel as comfortable as I did visiting my favorite spots in Los Angeles.
