  • About

Spring in Ann Arbor is a Uniquely Wonderful Time of Year. Sure, a lot of it still might involve a blanket of snow, but we also get early blooms underfoot, the days start to get longer and lighter, and folks begin to shed their winter gear as soon as temperatures rise above freezing. The slowly changing and unpredictable weather helps us transition from the frigid days of winter to the warmer ones ahead.

Springtime unpredictability resonates with me, perhaps because it mirrors my own roundabout path. It took me a startling number of my forty-odd years on this planet to figure out that food was one of the threads that makes me feel most like me; yet looking back, it seems so obvious. Many of my favorite memories are tied to cooking and baking, especially with loved ones.
