  • About
Winter is jam-packed with holidays to celebrate and many baking traditions to accompany them. The special days range from some of the world’s most celebrated—Christmas, New Year’s Day, and Valentine’s Day—to the all-American special day, the Super Bowl. We’ve placed Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, in this chapter since it usually happens sometime during the month of December. February is Black History Month; March has St. Patrick’s Day; and Fat Tuesday (Mardi Gras), celebrated uniquely by groups of different national heritage, falls sometime in February or March. One of our specialties at Zingerman’s Bakehouse is Hungarian baking, and we also feature our full Hungarian repertoire during this season. Winter has become three months of multicultural celebration for us!
