Days to Celebrate

After thirty years of baking, there are holiday and special days that have become part of our repertoire at the Bakehouse. The assortment reflects our past and current community and our personal lives.

The world, our world, our community, and what we prioritize celebrating is evolving. If we have an appropriate recipe in our repertoire to celebrate with, we included it. We definitely do not have recipes for every holiday that may be celebrated by a group in the United States.

When you look at these pages, you may find that a special day or holiday that is important to you is missing. Just because it’s not in the book does not mean that we don’t think it’s important; we just don’t happen to be the best people to supply a recipe to celebrate it … at least not yet. We hope to be around for another thirty years and we expect to evolve and learn. Your important holiday may be on our list to bake for, and we welcome your suggestions.
