This is a beautiful brasserie with fantastic traditional glass and ironwork outside and two walls of huge glass windows. Emmanuel Fauçon bought what was then a scruffy and run-down eatery at the young age of 25, despite the fact that his family thought he was mad. Well, some 15 years later, this place has become an elegant and busy brasserie. In the morning the brasserie serves coffee and cake, and at lunchtime it is transformed, with crisp white linen and paper tablecloths, sparkling glasses and a chalked-up ‘dish of the day’ board in addition to the set menu. While sitting and looking around, you will notice classic, floral French wall tiles that are made by Gilardon, who worked with the popular Art Nouveau architect, Hector Guimard. The floor is also laid with beautiful, blue-patterned tiles. This place oozes French elegance done with ease.
