My Masala Dablo (or Spice Tin)

Many people tell me that they are wary of cooking Indian food because of all the different spices. Gujarati food is very simple. If you invest in nothing else, invest in these key spices and you will be able to make a flavourful vegetarian meal.

You can buy them all in most supermarkets now, and online. One of my favourite places to buy online is Spice Kitchen, a lovely family-run business. They specialise in spice tins which come beautifully wrapped in sarees.
