  • About
With enough land to play with, we finally stumbled upon one of the most successful elements of a good garden: planning. There was so much we wanted to grow, but in order to make the most of our space, we needed to plan it out. And our first step was to create a design for our garden. Our process is just one of many ways to begin a garden, but it has helped us create a place where people, plants, and nature settle in harmony.
  • Draw inspiration from magazines, funky or boutique nurseries, botanical gardens, and other people’s homes; start mapping out how to develop the garden.
  • Study how the sun falls on the garden throughout the day.
  • Envision gatherings in the garden; plan for little nooks and seating areas where people can gather and have conversations.
  • Create different places to relax in the garden throughout the day, some where the morning light is beautiful, others for the afternoon. Imagine little places to get lost in and explore.
