  • About
There was a sort of snobbery among shoppers in my home town as to which of the three local bakers - all of which were pretty good - they bought their bread from. My father used to buy from Leakers, although Gran bought from down the road. The Leaker family sold to Caroline Parkins and her husband Paul in 2001.
Caroline, who’d been working in a restaurant in Avebury, had been looking out for a place of her own. Her love of Bridport took her there often, and one day she stumbled on Leakers, fresh on the market. Nothing has since changed in the look of the shop - it is just as I remember from childhood - but Caroline’s passion for baking and using purely local produce is very evident.
