Before I went up to see Brian and Ffiona, I was proudly shown an article in a local paper by Richard, the husband of Margaret Davies about the dense population of female company directors in Anglesey. There was a photo of the Thomases, both dressed up in the field, with their famous ancient breed Welsh Black cattle, so I thought I was on the way to see a couple of posh well-to-do farmers.

I was pleasantly surprised, when I sat in their living room with a mug of instant coffee, that, like the other producers in the area, they were totally down-to-earth as well as passionately into their farming.
