You have to want to be a chef. If you do then you’ll adapt quickly and you won’t be bothered by the job descriptions you read. The trouble is that wanting to be a chef and actually becoming one are two very different things. There is a lot to learn - both about yourself and the actual technical skills you will, ultimately, have to master.
In the first instance the way to becoming a good chef is to work on the first things that present themselves to you on the day you turn up at a real kitchen for work. The first tools you will need are not knives and scales and saucepans but your mind and your attitude.
