I have a deep, abiding love affair with the French. It’s no secret. Ergo you will not be surprised to know that this passion extends to their chocolate. I think the very best, the purest and the most elegant chocolate is made by the French. The French are indeed gastronomically inspired. So, I believe that every serious chocolate lover owes it to him or herself to take a trip to Paris to get a real feel of what’s happening in the chocolate world. It’s quite remarkable and very inspiring.
Parisian chocolate shops can offer you just about every chocolate combination that you have ever dreamed of - and probably many more beyond your wildest imagination! What’s more your choice of filling might be enrobed in any one of a number of couvertures from around the cocoa-growing world such as Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador, Papua New Guinea and so on. It is immensely exciting and it’s this concentration of effort that makes this experience so unique. Also, I have never seen cocoa pods on sale anywhere else but you can buy them in the streetmarkets and some of the shops here. Crack them open and scoff the beans. They are delicious.
