SUPERMARKETS like Safeway, Sainsbury, Tesco and Waitrose have moved on from the ‘old days’ when the only chocolate available was ‘cake covering’ (an invention of the Devil and to be avoided) and currently sell many different types of good plain bitter; milk and white. For example, Sainsbury has its own 72% but also stocks The Chocolate Society and Valrhona which is well worth paying the (lot) extra for; and Waitrose also stocks its own delicious brands as well as organic and some of the better known and loved.
