Valrhona manufactures one of the world’s greatest and most venerated chocolates, known for taste experience and available to both professional chocolate makers and chocolate-lovers alike. Valrhona was also one of the first companies to launch a range of grand crus on the basis of the wine grower’s maxim that the better the fruit, the better the end product. A grand cru is a single variety bean, or a bean from a single country such as 64% Caraïbe made from Caribbean trinitario beans; and the famous 70% Guanaja named after the Caribbean Island of Guanaja where Christopher Columbus landed in 1502 and made from both the florally flavoured criollo beans and pungent trinitario.
