  • About
This method is a good way in which to apply a remedy externally to speed up healing.
To make a hot compress, take a clean linen or cotton cloth, piece of gauze or cotton wool and soak it in the hot infusion or decoction prescribed. Then put this on the affected area as hot as the person can bear without too much discomfort (as the heat enhances the healing action of herbs) and either replace it with another once it has cooled or cover the cloth with plastic or waxed paper and lay a hot water bottle over it, refilling the bottle with hot water when it cools.
