Cooking for Christmas

  • About
In spite of this rhyme, which I found in an old cookery book, the word punch comes from the Indian word panch meaning five - i.e., five ingredients. However, there are all sorts of punches, with varying numbers of ingredients, and you may well have your own concoction. Their warm, spicy, potent taste is especially appropriate at Christmas time. Even those who usually dislike sweet things can enjoy a traditional, aromatic brew round the Christmas tree.
