  • About
The term ‘game’ merely means wild animals and birds killed for eating (or killed for sport and eaten afterwards). The following are the English birds and animals to which the term is applied, with the dates between which they are in season. It is now possible to buy some of them deep frozen from certain large food stores at times when they are technically out of season, or, of course, to acquire them in season and keep them in your own deep-freeze.
Pheasant 1 October – 1 February
Partridge 1 September – 1 February
