Man’s first attempts at cooking were done on a wood-fire, and it is still a good place to start learning the art of cooking. I have written the next few pages specifically for all devotees of the open fire, for fledgling and weekend cooks. With a little ingenuity they can cope with almost any form of cooking on an open fire.
