The partridge is a nonmigratory bird in the pheasant family Phasianidae, native to Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Partridges were introduced to North America toward the end of the 19th century, before finally adapting to their new environs at the beginning of the 20th century. They can now be found from Canada down to Central America.
