The reason I thought it was really neat to do this menu is that I have huge respect for Michael Graves (the dinner’s guest of honor) as an architect. He’s been one of my idols in the sense of design, so the opportunity to construct a menu around what I thought matched his architectural design and thought process in general was very exciting. Some of the dishes were architecturally sculpted to coincide with both the house where the dinner was held and the plateware, both of which he’d designed.
