  1. Fish, specifically tuna. It’s very universal. You can do a lot of different stuff with tuna.
  2. Guinea fowl. Again, it’s universal—and I’d get tired of eating chicken.
  3. Potatoes. I could live without rice or pasta, but not without potatoes.
  4. Artichokes. There’s a lot you can do with them—serve them with a vinaigrette, or braised in broth with beans, or roasted, or marinated. And their flavor’s great—they’re almost sweet.
  5. Butter. From Egg Farm Dairy [the dairy in which Palmer is a partner], of course.
  6. Spinach. It’s versatile—I like it raw and cooked.
  7. Chives. I’m crazy about chives.
  8. Eggs. It would be hard to live without eggs.
  9. Apples. I could do without them, but I’d have to have apples for my two sons, who love them.
  10. Foie gras. Every time Alicia [Palmer’s wife] has foie gras, it puts her in a good mood.
