  1. Sheep. For cheese and meat.
  2. Wheat. It’s a staple of one’s diet—I could never live without bread or cereal.
  3. Corn. I’m an Italian, and I like my polenta.
  4. Apple tree and pear tree. I love them both. And they’re constantly usable; I could eat the fruit fresh, or cooked, or even make liqueur from them.
  5. Grapes. To have wine.
  6. A pig. I love pork.
  7. Salad greens. A variety, or any kind.
  8. Chickens. I love eggs.
  9. An orange or tangerine tree. It’s a flavor I really love a lot.

When reminded that she could bring along seasonings, Shere responded, “I don’t need seasonings. If you have something that’s wonderful, you don’t need to do a lot to it.”
