Migraine support groups can be a double-edged sword when you’re not feeling well, but there is so much hope and inspiration tucked away in them. It was in one of these support groups, called Migraine Strong, that I first met Alicia. We both got sick with chronic vestibular migraine (VM) around the same time, and I found myself gravitating toward people who were making small gains, allowing opportunities for education rather than expressing the fear and uncertainty that comes with this diagnosis. We chatted here and there, helping each other navigate toward our recovery. As an administrator for Migraine Strong, our team was so excited to see Alicia create a resource for people on one of the migraine diets we support on her site, TheDizzyCook.com. Since I occasionally posted head-safe baking recipes (like my famous blueberry muffins!) for our group, I teased that I couldn’t wait to be a guest baker on Alicia’s site. To my surprise, she welcomed me with open arms, and The Dizzy Baker was officially born.
