PROFESSIONAL RIDER
THE RIDE
A typical 3-hour training ride.
PRE-RIDE

Two large pieces of homemade sourdough bread, two eggs, usually scrambled, some kind of chutney or ketchup, a cup of Earl Grey tea and a glass of juice.

Then I’ll usually get hungry again before I leave and have a couple of crumpets with some Marmite or another piece of bread and another cup of tea.
DURING

I would pack a Mars bar (cold weather only!), a banana, two good-sized, usually homemade bars – big, oaty flapjack-type things with honey and dried fruit or peel – or sometimes roasted fresh coconut (delicious) and a small pack of sweets like dolly mixture.
