ROAD RIDER
Likes long distance rides and group riding; a weekend warrior.
THE RIDE
80–160km weekend ride/sportive – pace depends on route, and which friends/club mates I am out with.
PRE-RIDE
Usually black coffee and toast. If it’s a sportive, I have oats with peanut butter and jam – a real breakfast of champions! I always prep my bidons the night before with water and SiS hydration tablets and stick them in the fridge.
DURING
I fry samosas before I leave – I loved having my tiffin of Bangladeshi fried treats on the top of Box Hill! Everyone thought I had a three-course meal. I remember taking a paratha to Ride London and it flying out of my top tube bag! It’s important to fuel on rides and you eat more if you enjoy the food.
