There used to be a time when I loved throwing a dinner party. I had all the time in the world to plan, prepare and generally faff around in the kitchen. Admittedly, this was in the world of Anna that existed pre-children. The world of Anna post-children is mostly spent as a glorified taxi driver, cleaner, washing lady and mediator, so the opportunities for full culinary faffage are limited. This doesn’t mean that I have stopped trying though and, as my house has an open-door policy, at the weekends I love catering for the friends, family or crowds of kids who regularly drop by. This gives me the excuse to enjoy the process of cooking a little more as I have the luxury of more time, but doesn’t mean I have to spend hours in the kitchen when I have guests to feed.
