Many people over the years have asked me to investigate or at least browse through their cookbook collections. I have found very few that are not simply assortments of books selected at random and without pattern, aggregations of volumes that are not cohesive in their span of subjects. The following is my proposal for an all-inclusive, consciously well-rounded collection of books on food.
Those marked with an * are my recommendations for the ultimate basic library, which may be added to at random according to individual whim and interest.
