A properly prepared pan ensures that the cake will not stick and that it will rise without obstruction.
Place a sheet of parchment paper on your work surface.
Fold the left half over the right, then the bottom half up over the top. Stabilizing the bottom left corner with your left index finger, fold the paper in half to make a triangle and continue folding a few more times until you have a tight, slim triangle.
Place the point of the cone in the center of the overturned cake pan and cut with a pair of scissors to fit just inside the pan.
