Remarks: Mazurkas are very thin and dry rectangular pastries, the size of a half or full sheet of paper. The top may be glazed and decorated as desired or strewn with currants, sugar, almonds, etc. They are served with dinner, tea, or coffee. Do not remove the mazurkas from the paper until they are cool. They are also decorated like pljatski; see the Remarks.
