Memphis, Tennessee

Saturday, May 11th 8am
The mile-and-a-half strip of green grass lines the Memphis side of the mighty Mississippi. A couple quietly walks hand in hand across the grass enjoying a park where they are the sole occupants.
The only things moving about are the puffy white clouds, and the river. And it is unusually muddy and murky and fast due to heavy spring rains in Arkansas, Missouri and Illinois up North. Huge tree stumps, logs as big as telephone poles, and branches pointing gaunt limbs into the gray skies, silently and swiftly pass by. Another peaceful and sleepy day along the banks of America’s most storied river.
