Food Cycle

This is a charity that is close to my heart. After working for so long in the industry, I have seen first-hand the amount of food that is wasted, which is a travesty considering there are so many who don’t have enough to eat.

FoodCycle is a national charity that combines volunteers, surplus food and spare kitchen spaces to create tasty, nutritious meals for people at risk of food poverty and social isolation.

As it stands, they currently run 29 projects across the country. One huge part of their ethos is that eating together is one of the most important things - it’s what unites us and it’s one of life’s simplest pleasures. For many guests, a weekly FoodCycle meal is one of the few opportunities they have to sit down and eat with someone.
