Shrimp vs. Prawns

Jumbo shrimp are commonly referred to as “prawns,” but while these two creatures look alike, they are botanically different. Prawns live in fresh water, while shrimp live in salt water. True prawns are not commercially available in the United States, though efforts are being made to farm them.
