Family Celebrations

Although not as strictly Catholic as the south of Italy, baptisms, first communions and weddings are important celebrations for many in the northeastern region. Vast sums are spent on lavish weddings with hundreds of guests, and the meal that is served is of the utmost importance. Each guest will receive a small gift with some sugared almonds attached, known as bomboniera.
