No Bar or Bat Mitzvah kiddush would be complete without a table of sweetmeats, whether the cookies of the Ashkenazim or the syrupy, exotic cakes of the Sephardim. Many cakes are made without flour, just with nut meal or matzo meal, and risen with beaten egg whites, to eat during the festival of Pesach.
