Back at Mission Pie, things were going great one day a week, so I asked Karen and Krystin if we could bump it up to two days a week. Of course, they generously obliged. And people just kept buying the bread! When I first started baking there, I was buying all of my flour myself—driving up to Petaluma (an hour north of San Francisco) and filling up my car with 600 pounds at a time—and storing it in my bedroom. One day I inquired, “Maybe I could get my flour delivered right to the bakery?” Again, they said yes.
