  • Wine has been produced here for more than five centuries. The wines are traditional and appealing, though not old-fashioned. Three good whites, all labeled as Collio Monte Cucco, are the Ribolla Gialla, Sauvignon Blanc, and an unusually fruity Chardonnay. The Collio Pinot Grigio and, especially, Tocai are quite nice. Menj Bianco is a lemony blend of Malvasia Istriana, Pinot Bianco, and Tocai. The berry-like Menj Rosso combines Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and the little-seen Petit Verdot.
