  • About
This small chapter contains many of my most favourite recipes. I think that if I could choose one meal above all others to eat each day, it would be tea-time food. For a week or two, at any rate! I would be so happy on dark -wintry afternoons, with the curtains drawn against the gathering dusk, to sit beside a fire and eat Apple Drop Scones with Cinnamon Butter, a recipe you will find in the first section of this chapter. It would be good to have Lemon and Cinnamon Fruit Bread the following day, and warm Oven Scones, with butter and good homemade (it goes without saying) jam or lemon curd. And for breakfast nothing – to me – could be nicer than Spicy Raisin Buns, served warm with butter and marmalade.
