Mis en bouteille au château/Estate-bottled This phrase indicates that the wine was bottled by the producer rather than a merchant.
Reserva/Riserva A term used in Italy, Spain and Portugal to denote that the wine has been aged for longer than non-Reserva wines before it is released for sale. For example, a Barolo Riserva from Italy will have received extended ageing in comparison with a straightforward Barolo. This isn’t to be confused with Reserve on US wine labels. Reserve is used frequently by American winemakers because it implies prestige, but the term isn’t regulated in the USA and can be applied to any wine, rendering it unhelpful as an indicator of quality.
